This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a binding contract between you and Coffee or Tea on Me Inc. ("Coffee or Tea on Me", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the Coffee or Tea on Me mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the Service in any way, you accept this EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour
Coffee or Tea on Me is built on a single promise: every account belongs to a verified, real human and the experience inside the app is respectful. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal:
- Hate speech of any kind, including content that demeans, threatens, or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, or threats directed at any user, public figure, or group.
- Sexually explicit content, including nudity, pornographic imagery, sexually suggestive descriptions of minors, and unsolicited sexual messages or photographs.
- Sexual content involving minors of any kind. This will be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement.
- Spam, including unsolicited promotional content, links to external websites for commercial purposes, multi-level marketing pitches, and bulk or templated messages.
- Impersonation of another real person, a celebrity, a public figure, or a fictional character intended to deceive.
- Threats of violence or content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or harm to others.
- Illegal activity, including the sale of regulated substances, weapons, stolen goods, or any other content that violates applicable law.
- Doxxing — sharing another person's private information (address, workplace, phone number, government identifiers) without their consent.
- Scams and fraud, including romance scams, requests to move conversations off-platform for the purpose of fraud, requests for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers.
Submitting any of the above is a material breach of this EULA. We will remove the content, terminate the offending account, and where appropriate cooperate with law enforcement.
2. User-generated content
You are solely responsible for the photos, prompts, bios, messages, voice recordings, and any other content you upload, transmit, or display on the Service ("User Content"). Coffee or Tea on Me is a platform, not a publisher. We do not pre-screen, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of User Content. You retain ownership of your User Content; by submitting it, you grant Coffee or Tea on Me a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, process, display, and distribute it strictly for the purpose of operating the Service.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all User Content you submit, that it does not violate the rights of any third party, and that it complies with this EULA, our Community Guidelines, and applicable law.
3. Reporting and blocking
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates this EULA, report it immediately:
- Report a profile: open the profile, tap the ⋯ menu in the top right, choose Report, select the reason, and add an optional note.
- Report a message or chat: open the chat thread, tap the ⋯ menu in the top right, choose Report, and select the reason.
- Block a user: from the same ⋯ menu, choose Block. The blocked user can no longer view your profile, see you in discovery, or message you. Blocking is silent — they are not notified.
We commit to reviewing every report within 24 hours of receipt. Severe reports (threats, sexual content involving minors, imminent harm) are escalated immediately. Outcomes include: no action, warning, content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent termination. We do not disclose the outcome of moderation actions to the reporter for privacy reasons, but the reporter receives confirmation that the report was received and reviewed.
4. Account termination
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate any account that violates this EULA, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law. Termination may occur without prior notice for serious violations. We do not issue refunds for any unused subscription period associated with a terminated account.
Because every account is bound to a unique facial vector created from your government-issued ID and a live face scan, a terminated account cannot be re-created. The face vector for a terminated user is retained in our verification index for the sole purpose of preventing re-registration. This is a permanent measure and a foundation of our anti-bot guarantee. If you believe your account was terminated in error, contact support@coffeeorteaonme.com within 30 days.
5. Verification requirement
Coffee or Tea on Me is a verified-humans-only service. Before any feature unlocks (browsing, liking, messaging, matching), you must complete:
- Government-issued photo ID scan (front and back). The ID image is processed for OCR (name, date of birth, document number, expiry) and the embedded portrait is extracted to seed your facial vector. The original ID images are deleted within 7 days of successful verification; only the OCR result and the facial vector are retained.
- Facial liveness check. We use AWS Rekognition Face Liveness to confirm that a real, live human is in front of the camera at the moment of signup. Still photos, masks, screen replays, and deepfakes are detected and rejected.
- Face deduplication. Your facial vector is compared against every other verified user's vector. If a match is found, you cannot create a new account.
By submitting verification materials, you consent to the above processing. The verification step is mandatory and there is no way to use the Service without completing it.
6. Age requirement
You must be 18 years of age or older to use Coffee or Tea on Me. There are no exceptions. If we discover or suspect that an account belongs to a person under 18, we will terminate it immediately and delete associated data (other than what we are required to retain for legal or safety reasons). If you believe a user is under 18, report them via the in-app reporting tool.
7. Prohibited uses
In addition to Section 1, you agree not to:
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Upload AI-generated, deepfaked, or otherwise synthetic photographs of yourself or any person. Photos must depict you, taken in real life. We may use automated and manual review to enforce this rule and we remove accounts found to be in breach.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract profile data, photos, messages, or any other content from the Service by automated means.
- Automate likes, swipes, messages, or any other action on the Service. Each interaction must be a deliberate human action.
- Operate bots, scripts, or any other software designed to interact with the Service on your behalf.
- Attempt to evade verification, dedup, or moderation systems, including by using altered IDs, multiple devices to circumvent rate limits, or VPNs to bypass geographic restrictions.
- Solicit money, gifts, cryptocurrency, or financial favours from other users. The Service is not a venue for sex work, escort services, sugar arrangements, or commercial solicitation of any kind. (Coffee or Tea on Me's parent operator runs separate, fully compliant brands for those use cases; this is not one of them.)
- Request payment, transfers, or financial information as a condition of conversation, meeting, or affection.
- Use the Service to defame, libel, slander, or otherwise harm another person's reputation.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, provincial, federal, or international law.
8. Geographic restrictions
The Service collects and processes biometric information (facial vectors, liveness video frames). Some jurisdictions impose specific consent and retention requirements on biometric processing.
- Illinois, USA: The Service is currently unavailable to Illinois residents pending compliance with the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). If you are an Illinois resident, you will see a "Coming soon to Illinois" message at signup. We expect to launch in Illinois once our retention and consent flows are BIPA-aligned.
- Quebec, Canada: Quebec residents are notified of biometric processing in compliance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), including the requirement to notify the Commission d'accès à l'information ("CAI") at least 60 days before commencing biometric processing.
- European Union, United Kingdom, Switzerland: Biometric processing is performed pursuant to your explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) of the GDPR (and equivalent provisions of UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection).
We may add or remove jurisdictions from the supported list at any time, with reasonable notice where practicable.
9. Disputes
This EULA is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The language of this EULA is English; a French translation is available upon request and Quebec residents may elect to receive the French version as the controlling text in accordance with applicable Quebec law.
Informal resolution first. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at support@coffeeorteaonme.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Arbitration. If informal resolution fails, all disputes arising out of or relating to this EULA or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the Canadian Arbitration Association, conducted in Montreal, Quebec, in English (or French, at the election of a Quebec resident). The arbitrator's decision is final and binding. You waive the right to bring claims as a class action, except where prohibited by applicable law. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights or to enforce a confidentiality obligation.
10. Changes to this EULA
We may update this EULA from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to you in-app and via the email address on file at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an updated EULA constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The current version is always available in Settings → Legal → End User License Agreement.
